On Thursday, January 16th, the Belgian newspaper Nieuwblad published an article about the new targets for terrorist attacks designated by ISKP in Europe and the US. They interviewed Bibi van Ginkel, Programme Lead of the Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (PCVE) pillar of ICCT and Senior Research fellow.
Van Ginkel analysed the relevance of this type of threat, defining it 'serious'. Furthermore, she highlighted how it can be considered as a 'general call to action', with which the terrorist group suggest the events that their supporters should target.
