On Thursday, July 16th, Domani, an Italian Newspaper published an article about EU indecision regarding the repatriation of ISIS EU born fighters and their families. As part of the article, Domani interviewed ICCT Pillar Lead and Senior Research Fellow Tanya Mehra.
Mehra explained how the idea of establishing an international tribunal to try the fighters had been floated in the past. However as stated by Mehra, ''a tribunal would be extremely expensive and could only try those with serious responsibilities.'' Therefore Mehra indicated that repatriation remains the best option.
