On the 11th of September, ICCT Research Fellow Daan Weggemans was quoted in an article in the Volkskrant on the new security dangers of convicted jihadists who are set to be released in 2023. the article is based on a report by Globsec, which studied 197 convicted jihadists in 11 different countries, including the Netherlands. Weggemans is quoted in the article stating the potential for re-radicalization exists but that it's hard to measure what that risk is.
