On Thursday, January 9th, the Turkish edition of the Deutsche Welle newspaper published an article highlighting the possibility of a new military operation in Northern Syria and the effects it might have on the prisons where IS fighters are held captive. The newspaper interviewed Tanya Mehra, Senior Research Fellow and Programme Lead for the Rule of Law Responses to Terrorism programme at ICCT.
