On Monday, March 10th, the Dutch media network RTL published an article quoting Peter Knoope, distinguished fellow at ICCT.
Dr. Knoope analysed the dangers of the flourishing terrorism groups in the Sahel, a threat that "transcend the African continent". Due to its geographical location, Africa is the Southern border of Europe, "and on that southern border, Russia is gaining more and more power. We are not seeing much of that now, but it is possible that Russia will turn the migration button to destabilise Europe."
