On Sunday, September 8, the Danish newspaper Dagbladet Information interviewed Lynn Schneider about how child returnees from Syria and Iraq are reintegrating into society after their repatriation from Syrian and Iraqi prison camps.
"So far, nothing in my research indicates that any of the children show any kind of deep-rooted extremist indoctrination", Schneider says.
She added "most of the children have experienced some form of instability: for example, by having witnessed war or by being displaced in the camps, where the conditions are horrible. Almost everyone has lost their father, everyone has lived in poverty, they have not had access to basic health services or education".
