ICCT Informs Council of Europe Report on Foreign Fighters

  On 7 December 2015, the Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy at the Council of Europe's Parliamentary Assembly adopted a report by Rapporteur Dirk van der Maelen on "Foreign fighters in Syria and Iraq". ICCT Research Fellow Dr. Christophe Paulussen contributed with a detailed background study to this report that suggests avenues on how to step up an international response to the problem of foreign fighters.  The explanatory memorandum (part C of the report) is largely based on what Van der Maelen termed the "excellent" study by Dr. Christophe Paulussen.   Read the Council of Europe's press release and report.
