ICCT Director on Situation in Sinai and Bombing of Russian Metrojet

On Monday 9 November 2015, ICCT Director Mark Singleton was interviewed for the TV programme Brandpunt of Dutch public broadcaster KRO.

The item concerned the now confirmed bombing of the Russian Metrojet 9268 flight by the Sinai franchise of the so-called “Islamic State” (IS). Mark Singleton elaborated on how the situational circumstances and history of the Sinai region, that led to deprivation and grievances, likely have contributed to an increase in terrorism in the region.
