On 3 May 2017, ICCT Associate Fellows Colin P. Clarke and Craig Whiteside published an article titled "Charting the Future of the Modern Caliphate" in War on the Rocks.
The article explores the future of so called 'Islamic State' (IS) and what will be most likely future scenarios for the jihadi group. According to Clarke and Whiteside, IS’ future survival will be determined less by its own agency and more by the actions of other stakeholders and actors.
