On 1 November 2017, ICCT Associate Fellow Dr. Colin P. Clarke and Amarnath Amarasingam published an article in Slate titled "Terrorism Fatigue". The article argues that terrorist attacks claimed by ISIS are desensitizing the public to violence. According to Clarke and Amarasingam, ISIS makes "terrorism seem a part of everyday life, making it fail to achieve its intended objective - to terrify."
