On 16 October 2018, The Atlantic published an article on America's endgame and Iran's role in Syria, written by Associate Fellow Collin P. Clarke and Ariane Tabatabai. The US administration made an important change in its foreign policy regarding Syria, according to the authors; America will remain active in Syria as long as Iran is operating in the country. How this policy change will develop in practice, is however still uncertain.
