On Friday, April 11th, the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf published an interview to Bibi van Ginkel, Senior Research Fellow and Programme Lead at ICCT.
She explored whether Extinction Rebellion should be considered a terrorist organisation. "Terrorism occurs when ideological violence is used, which must be treated very carefully. That includes setting goals with the intent of spreading fear", she said. Furthermore, she highlighted how Extinction Rebellion is "primarily a civil disobedience movement" and "that is not terrorism".
