On Thursday, July 3rd, L'Echo, a Belgian newspaper published an article about how the Belgian government seeks to meet new NATO spending targets.
As part of the article, the paper interviewed Thomas Renard, Director of the ICCT.
"For many states, achieving this target of 3.5% + 1.5% is going to be extremely complicated.'' says Renard.
"We are not in a bubbling economic period, the first reflex of most members is to see how to redirect certain lines, relabel existing costs, before committing to new expenses." he continues.
