Venue: T.M.C. Asser Instituut, R.J. Schimmelpennincklaan 20-22, The Hague
On Tuesday 12 November, the T.M.C. Asser Instituut, with the support of the Dutch Ministry of Security and Justice, and ICCT, launched the International Crimes Database (ICD) website. The website offers a comprehensive database on international crimes adjudicated by national as well as international and internationalised courts. It provides access to a range of information not just for lawyers and judges, but also for students, academics, families and communities of victims of crimes, and others.
In addition to presenting the database itself, the launch included speeches from members of the Ministry of Security and Justice, ICCT, ICD team members and the ICD Steering Committee. Judge Fausto Pocar of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) will deliver a keynote speech on international crimes. Following the presentations, a drinks reception will ensue. To view the database, please visit http://www.internationalcrimesdatabase.org/.
