On 30 August 2017, BBC News published a news article that analysed who was responsible for the 63 jihadist attacks that have taken place in Europe and North America over the past three years. The article drew upon a report titled "Fear Thy Neighbor: Radicalization and Jihadist Attacks in the West", which was published jointly by ICCT, the Italian Institute for Political Studies (ISPI) and the Program on Extremism at the George Washington University, in June 2017. The Report, co-authored by Dr. Lorenzo Vidino, Francesco Marone and Eva Entenmann, examined all jihadist-motivated terrorist attacks carried out in Europe and North America since the declaration of the Caliphate by the Islamic State group in June 2014.
