On 11 September 2021, ICCT Senior Research Fellow and Programme Lead Teun van Dongen reflected on Western attitudes towards 9/11 over the past twenty years in the NPO Radio 1 podcast 'Dr Kelder and Co'. He emphasised that too little attention was paid to Western interference and related counter-terrorism efforts in the Middle East and the true motives of the attackers, as well as the mistaken framing of the fight against terrorism as a 'holy war'.
