Suryaansh Basumallik

Suryaansh Basumallik joined the ICCT in August 2024 as the Communications and Events Intern. He is currently completing his BSC from Leiden University, pursuing Political Science with a specialisation in International Relations and Organisations. Along with his work he is currently writing his thesis on international economic organisations in times of crisis as well as a research paper for Leiden University studying state sovereignty and Private Military Companies. 

Prior to working at the ICCT, he has worked as an intern at the Indian Political Action Committee, working on the political campaigns of political parties in India. His research areas lies in the role of non-state actors in politics as well as the politics of international economic organisations. During his studies he has also conducted research on the relationship between FDI inflow and democracy ratings and relationship between and the effect of a US president's party affiliation on their attitudes towards Foreign Aid outflow.
