Lena Fadel joined the ICCT in October 2024 as the Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism Intern. She holds a MSc in Crisis and Security Management from Leiden University, specialising in the governance of radicalism, extremism, and terrorism, as well as a MSc in Organisational Psychology from Radboud University, focusing on behavioural and organisational change.

Prior to joining ICCT, Lena gained experience in addressing security challenges, particularly through her research on the role of behavioural change initiatives in improving information security awareness. This work was part of a large-scale research project involving 35,000 participants. Her research interests include the intersection of organised crime and radicalisation, and the impact of behavioural change strategies in counter-terrorism efforts.
