Iria joined the ICCT in July 2026 as the Editorial and Communications Intern. She holds a BSc in Politics, Psychology, Law, and Economics, with a major in Politics and two minors in Conflict Studies and Middle Eastern Studies. In 2026, she completed her MSc in Conflict Resolution and Governance from the University of Amsterdam.

Before joining the ICCT, she completed a research internship at the Vienna International Institute for Middle East Studies, where she examined the efficacy of international judicial bodies in cases of protracted conflict. Her main fields of interest lie in Security Studies, with a particular focus on the migration-security nexus. Iria researched irregular migration in the Mediterranean for both her BSc and MSc theses, conducting a month-long fieldwork period in Ceuta for the latter. She has also volunteered as a swim teacher for newly arrived refugees, asylum-seekers and migrants in Spain.
