Bram Sizoo
Associate Fellow, Preventing / Countering Violent Extremism
Bram Sizoo is professor by appointment at the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences of the University of Amsterdam. His research focuses on the clinical psychology of radicalisation.
He was a naval officer in the Netherlands submarine service from 1982 to 1989. He holds master degrees in criminal law and medicine. In 1999, he completed the tropical medicine training and was medical director of Mulanje Mission Hospital in Malawi from 1999 to 2003. Upon return to the Netherlands he became psychiatrist in 2008, and specialized in developmental disorders in adults. In 2010 he obtained a PhD in medicine. Since 2015 he has been part of the Threat Management Team of the Netherlands police force.
