In the media: Thomas Renard on the Lessons from the Brussels Terrorist Attacks a Decade Ago and the Current Terrorist Threat Landscape

Recently, Thomas Renard, ICCT Director, discussed a decade of lessons from the Brussels attacks and assessed the current terrorist threat landscape in interviews with various media outlets.

Speaking with The New York Times, he noted that certain areas in Belgium became “hubs” for radicalisation, where individual recruiters often used friends and family networks to spread their ideology, creating a snowball effect.
