In the Media: Thomas Renard about Taylor Swift concert attack plan and links with Jihadist propaganda

On Thursday, August 8th, Belgian newspaper De Tijd published an article quoting Thomas Renard. The article argued that the recent attack plan on a Taylor Swift concert in Vienna is indicative of the rise in Jihadist propaganda in Europe. 

"The tipping point lies with the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan in 2021. The withdrawal allowed ISKP (the branch of IS in Afghanistan and Pakistan, ed.) to regroup," outlined Renard. "They have started investing heavily in high-quality and multilingual propaganda aimed at a European audience."
