On Monday, September 22, the Dutch Newspaper, RTL Nieuws, published an article about the far-right anti-immigration riots which occurred in The Hague, The Netherlands, recently. As part of the article, RTL Nieuws interviewed ICCT Programme Lead and Senior Research Fellow Tanya Mehra.
Mehra warned that we must be cautious in labelling the individuals who resorted to rioting and violence on the day. "Hooligan certainly doesn't cover it," stated Mehra. "A term that does cover it: political violence", she asserted.
