On Wednesday, 31st January 2024, Thomas Renard was interviewed by the Belgian news outlet L'Echo about the newly released ICCT Press book "Female Jihadis Facing Justice: Comparing Approaches in Europe".
"The treatment of female jihadists has fundamentally evolved", says Thomas. According to research published in the new ICCT book, the sentences imposed on female jihadists in French-speaking Belgium are significantly less severe than in the Flanders.
