ICCT Acting Director Alastair Reed on Corsham Institute's CVE Podcast

October 02, 2017

On 29 September 2017, ICCT Acting Director Alastair Reed was interviewed by Charles Kriel from the Corsham Institute in a podcast on Countering Violent Extremism (CVE). Reed explained the significance of de-radicalisation within civil society dealing with violent extremism. He emphasised shifting focus from traditional CVE strategies aiming to change extremist belief systems to creating disengagement between the actor and the variables that lead him or her towards violent behaviour. Reed further talks about how this can be done by discussing ICCT's past research by J.M. Berger, 'Making CVE Work: A Focused Approach Based on Process Disruption'. Listen to the podcast.
