Julian Lanchès

Julian Lanchès joined ICCT in April 2024 as the Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism intern. Julian holds a MA in Terrorism, Security and Society from King’s College London, a MSc in Crisis and Security Management from Leiden University, and a BA in Political Science from the University of Tübingen.

Prior to joining ICCT, Julian interned at the Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD) and the Global Network on Extremism & Technology (GNET) where he supported research on disinformation strategies on social media and prison radicalisation. During his studies, he has conducted research on far-right terrorist radicalisation pathways, the radicalisation of conspiracy movements, and the nexus between far-right extremism and hooliganism. His main research interests lie in far-right extremism, the role of identity and ideology in cognitive radicalisation processes, and the mainstreaming of extremism.
